I’m doing another book on Appalachian folkways, this one for Llewellyn. I turned it in to my editor on 12/1 and the team sent me notes last week. I was still working on the final plans for my niece’s memorial so I jumped into the editing this week.
I printed out the notes and started by “picking the low-hanging fruit.” All the easy deletions and spelling checks.
Tomorrow I get to start moving chunks of text around and reconfiguring chapters.
I really like this process and am grateful for thorough editors.
